David Rhydwen Award for Outstanding Scholarly Contribution to News Librarianship

The David Rhydwen Award for Outstanding Scholarly Contribution to News Librarianship will be awarded for the first time at the SLA 2005 Annual Conference in Toronto. Because Mr. Rhydwen was with the Globe and Mail for 45 years, the division believes it is fitting to present the first award in Toronto. The award honoring scholarly contributions to the field of news librarianship is meant to be occasional, when an outstanding candidate presents him/herself.
